These Scrub and Throw loofahs are amazing! The size was a bit annoying at first, but I appreciate them for their purpose: scrub and *throw* away.Pros:+Small size means you can use them for sticky, yucky messes and toss them in compost or landfill.+Soft side for every day cleaning, scrubby side for difficult messes+They hold soap very well+Expand quickly and can be used immediately!+It's easy to see when debris is caught in the fibersCons:-Small size makes them difficult to reuse.-They're not as scrubby as a plastic scour padBest advice I can give is check your expectations. Plastic sponges and scour pads are quite literally designed by humans in a laboratory for scrubbing and absorption. Nothing natural is "designed" in the same way. It might mean you'll need to apply more elbow grease in certain situations or use a cloth on your counters to soak up liquid, but expecting plastic performance out of a plant will only lead to disappointment. I use regular Dawn with these and don't have to use more than a couple of drops for one sink full of dishes, or I use Pine-Sol for surfaces and disinfecting.Overall, my experience has been pleasant. I first bought these months ago and will continue to use them; I've put them on subscribe and save along with larger loofahs.For everyday needs, I suggest getting a larger loofah. I personally use the ones made by Homug most often, but there are many brands that make them and I don't prefer one over the other. Get whichever is cheap and well-reviewed. Keep Scrub and Throw, and a larger loofah around and you won't be caught out!

I usually buy sponges in bulk from the store and cut them up in half to clean dog bowls and cat litter boxes. I feel bad for disposing plastic or upcycled sponges away as they are not biodegradable and damaging to the pet equipment, even though they are advertised as gentle scrubbing. I bought these as they are plant material and compact. As a pet sitter, these fit perfectly in my pet care pack. I can take a box with me to my clients homes and clean with confidence and know that I can just dispose to keep everything hygienic. I think this is the best product to clean pet bowls as it has enough scrubbing power to keep the bowls clean without scratching the interior. It also helps to clean cat litter boxes more effectively. I wish they did have a larger size for bigger tasks but these small sizes do get the job done :)

These are awesome, maybe not meant for cleaning all dishes but help clean stubborn messes and more eco friendly. They aren’t super rough either, soften in water of course

I wanted to find something to replace my nasty dish sponges and these are perfect. Not only are they compostable but they do not hold onto bacteria or any have any smell (even after months of use). They are rough, yet soft enough to not scratch the dishes, and the size is comparable (yet slightly smaller) than a normal sponge by the time it’s been soaked and expands. They dry relatively quick and they soften really quickly as well. They last a long time but will slowly break down after time, however you get so many it’s easy to replace. Great value on these compared to the more manicured ones I’ve bought in the past. Love!

These sponges are not large, but they have good scrub power and I use them often for cleaning cat bowls and dishes where I don't want to use my kitchen sponge. They are a great eco conscious alternative to cheaply made sponges that won't degrade and will sit in the landfill with millions of other products. Natural is always best and these sponges "plump up" nicely and last longer than single use, which I think most people will assume they are for. They have a gentle scrub quality so they won't scratch surfaces or products. If you're looking for an eco-friendly alternative to mass produced cellulose, this is it!

These are great scrubbers as a Mr. Clean (micro plastic) replacement for sticks bits on pots/pans. They can easily last a week or two.Small but mighty.

Worked really well as a disposable option, and was compact so I could bring a couple. Perfect for travel so I don’t have to use someone else’s sponge! Also great for use on a backpacking or camping trip to minimize weight while taking something that’ll actually scrub your kitchen gear

Love these little loofa scrubs! Use them in the kitchen and bathroom and in the shower. Wish they were a little less expensive

Expands quickly in water, ready to use immediately, has a soft and rough (inside of the loofah) side, does the job, biodegradable 👍🏼 maybe a tad bit small in size. hence 4 stars.

Overall like the idea of them. They were asymmetric when they puffed up. I would have preferred just a slightly larger size but overall for the concept, they work well. I used mine a few times and they’re still in good shape.We’ve used a larger size in the past and that may perhaps be a better fit for our household.

You get a TON of these scrub pads in a pack so they will definitely last a really long time. I also love that they don’t take up hardly any storage room at all due to how compressed they are, yet as soon as water touches them they puff up like crazy.As far as how well they work, I can’t really complain. They have a good amount of scrub to them that isn’t to abrasive but still scrubby enough to get the job done. I used the same one for over a week to do the dishes before I needed to replace it with a new one, so they seam to last pretty well. One thing I wasn’t expecting is when they puff up they are not perfectly square and equal on all sides. They all kind of puff up a bit different, but they still work great. Overall I’m happy with these!

We use sponges all the time and there’s nothing nastier than picking one up that has reached its peak usage and developed that awful stink. These Scrub & Throw Natural Loofah Sponges are a nice alternative to traditional foam sponges when you want to scrub without the need to absorb.They are on the smaller side compared to the traditional kitchen sponge but they are great scrubbers especially when you need non-scratch. I actually prefer the smaller size since they are designed to be thrown away after using. I can justify trashing one after just one use if I’ve used it on a really tough job where lots of gunk got embedded in it but otherwise I’ve been able to get about 6 days use out of one before it got ripe.

I love this product other than the size and durability. I can make a synthetic sponge last months with proper care, but these last 1-2wks, 3 at best. We don’t have a dishwasher though, so we use ours a lot. I’m 5’4” so my hands aren’t very big, average maybe, and it’s a little small for my hand. I wouldn’t mind the durability factor if they were a little bigger, because I’d rather spend money on something that is planet-friendly. Other than that, great product!! It has a soft side and scratchy side naturally! Maybe I’ll start growing these and cut up my own. Thanks for helping the planet :)

my intention in buying these was as a sort of "scratching post" for my birds. I've tried a few different things, like brushes and the like, but this they sort of like, although they seem to just like chewing on it more than anything else. It's ok, it won't hurt them.But since I had them, and there are so many in the box, I wanted to use them for other things too. I've been using them for cleanup in the kitchen, and the inside side works really well to clean stuff off that you might otherwise grab some kind of scouring pad for. So I like that.The thing is, they're really pretty small. They're perfect for my birds, but for me, in the kitchen, I'd want them to be maybe twice the size. They're usable, sure, but a little hard to use and hold onto. The box does contain a lot of them though, they are flat-packed, it's pretty cool packaging. A good product, for sure.

I am reviewing "Scrub & Throw XL Scrub Sponges (Pack of 15), All-Purpose Household Natural Loofah Sponges, for Dishes, Cleaning, Non-Scratch"These are super interesting lol. I am always looking for an alternative to traditional dish sponges because the traditional ones are yucky and too expensive to use and toss! They come in a tiny box and I show a before and after in my pics, the before is a flat rectangle and the after is a little bigger with some odd ridges on the opposite side lol.These excited me, although still would get expensive to just use once and toss as the pack of 15 sponges was 19.99 doll hairs at the time of my order which comes down to about 1.33 a sponge... But, these are well more than a use and toss and they don't get all yucky like traditional sponges. They also don't work terribly well to do all the dishes as these don't soak up water very well after its wetted, but they are good to have to scrub anything that needs scrubbing.. pans and such!They are great to clean the bathroom though and I also tried one in my shower, as these honestly reminded me of a natural loofa Id had before and I think this is where Ill use them from now on! But very interesting ... I recommend for a deeper cleaning-a scrubbin if you will, but not so much for doin the dishes!

I am always attracted to natural products that are better for the environment, so the idea of loofah sponges for the kitchen seemed like something that was worth trying. The Scrub & Throw XL Scrub Sponges come dried and flattened in a small box which is great for storing. Once wet they expand and begin to look more like a loofah you would use in the shower, although cut down to a smaller size. I found them to be ok for washing dishes, but they lack any real scrubbing power. They were no match for a pan with baked on cheese and struggle with stuck on food of any kind. The softness of them does mean they can be used on delicate surfaces such as flat stovetops. The loofah sponges are also versatile and could be used anywhere in the house as well as body scrubbers. They are marketed as a one time use sponge, but that seems like such a waste of both product and money. I am using them repeatedly as I would a regular sponge. I do love that when I am done with them I can toss them out without guilt since they are biodegradable.

Let me start by saying that I like the concept, and I like the scrubs. Though they’re not absorbent like traditional sponges, they are ideal for dishes, silverware, glassware, porcelain, Pyrex, and other items where you don't expect to do a lot of heavy-duty scrubbing. I do find I use more paper towel for absorbing excess water with these scrubs. I particularly like that the sponges let you know (visibly) when it's time to dispose of it and get a new one. The color of the sponge will change/darken from the light tan (almost white), and you'll see particles trapped within the sponge that you can't rinse out!That said, if you use a sponge that has a non-scratch scrubbing pad on one side, don't expect to be able to retire it. The Scrub and Throw may be up to the task, but you'll need to apply considerably more time and/or "elbow grease" to clean the item. It is, however, more than up to the task of cleaning sinks, bathtubs, and other similar surfaces, and can handle abrasive cleaning products. It's an excellent item and will have a place in my kitchen.P.S - After you wet the scrub, it expands to about the same size as a "conventional" kitchen sponge. I see a small number of negative reviews complaining about the size being too small - about 1/2 the size of a regular sponge (or less). This is not my experience.

When I learned that the non-scratch blue scouring pads I’ve been using are adding plastic to my waste water, I had to make a change.These are small, and they really don’t have as much scrubbing power as the blue pads, I decided to do something a little different with them. I placed them on an already used and shrunken Swedish dishcloth and sewed all around the edges and then cut them out. Swedish dishcloth on one side and scrubber on other. What ended up happening is the loofah expanded and I was left with a plump little scrubber that feels nice in your hand.I don’t think these will have a long life span, but they rinse clean of food debris and so far don’t stink. My husband even likes them! Sometimes you just have to give up one detail to reach your goal of a plastic free or to at least use less plastic.4 stars for cost only. They’re expensive.

Good for basic dishes but does not get stuck on food off.

I love using luffa sponges in my kitchen. These are pretty small. They get the job done and last a while but so small! I make good use of them and the toss in my compost.

As much fun as they were they didn’t actually clean well. Had a really weird hand feel. Lived the sustainability and packaging but truly that was about all.
